There is so much going on in our lives at the moment, it is really tempting to give up trying to find time to write about it. I want to be able to look back on these times though and appreciate the girls still being relatively young and having so much excitement in our lives. What better way than through the #LittleLoves roundup?
I’ve been whizzing through books at the moment – All those hours poolside, overnight hotel stays and long train journeys mean I’m away from home so can indulge in some reading. You may have caught my post last week about the books I read during May. June has started healthily too – I finished a short novel (Novelette?) by Maeve Binchy earlier this week and loved it. Her writing is like putting on a comfy pair of socks (without holes). I’m still so sad that she passed away – A talent lost forever.
I spent 8 hours on trains yesterday, taking Millie down to Reading and travelling back on my own – Plenty of opportunity to get stuck into Lessons in Laughing Out Loud by Rowan Coleman. I’m going through a stage of reading all my TBR list instead of buying new books – I got this out of the library ages ago and kept renewing it until I got round to reading it. Its so much more involved of a storyline that the cover suggests – I love Coleman’s writing too – Sucks you in!
We are so hopeless at watching things on time. I have borrowed Line of Duty Series 1 & 2 from the library (at an extortionate price!) Needlesstosay, we haven’t had chance to watch it yet and the DVD is now 5 days overdue amounting huge fines! We are up to date on Casualty though!
The good news is we have managed to remember our Netflix password so viewing can now recommence.
I have spent any available time making a 70th Birthday Cake for my friend’s Mum – I can’t show pictures yet as she won’t see it until tomorrow but I am so pleased with the final result.
Since I last posted a #LittleLoves roundup, there have been plenty of cakes – I talked about my Violet’s 10th Birthday Cake over on our food blog.
Who knows what to wear in this weather? Hot one minute, then chucking it down the next. Tara & I have been sporting our Joules Summer Waterproof jackets though and love them!
We are off to Hungary tomorrow so I did a little shopping for some summer dresses – I’ve discovered Pepperberry that cater for us curvy creatures! More pics to come when I’ve tried my dresses on!
Millie is spending the next few days wearing her Team GB kit as she is competing in the Hungarian Open Synchronised Swimming competition. This is her first International competition as England Talent – We are super proud of her and wish her all the luck in the world.
Not much to be honest. I don’t have the TV or Radio on when I’m working from home – I just devour the peace! I travelled down to Surrey last weekend though and thoroughly enjoyed a bit of retro listening with Sara Cox on the 80’s Radio 2 show. I am officially old!
